Spain consolidates as the main destination of exports of canned asparagus and canned fish in Peru
In 2018, Peru exported 29,880,675 kilos of canned asparagus at a FOB value of almost 95 million dollars, according to Agraria.pe. These figures are very similar to those corresponding to exports of the year 2017, in which the Latin American country billed 95,113,026 million dollars for a total of 28,425,479 of canned asparagus sold abroad.
According to this same medium, the main destination of Peruvian canned asparagus was Spain, with whom agreements were signed for a total of 41,184,000 million dollars. Secondly, France appears, with more than 19 million dollars disbursed for this product, then the United States, with a figure exceeding 12 million dollars, followed by Germany, with 10,199,000 dollars, and finally Italy, with 2,226,000 Million dollars.
In addition, Spain is the second importer of canned artichokes in Peru. First of all, the United States has more than 50 million dollars for the purchase of this product.
Canned fish is another of the most demanded Peruvian products in Spain
Comercio.pe emphasizes that between January and November of 2018, the export of canned fish of Peru increased by 38%. Also in this case, the main destination of these fisheries exports was Spain, which increased its purchases by 43%, but also highlighted the shipments to South Korea, whose acquisition grew by 104%.
