Rafael González Business Group, award for Internationalization as one of the best exporting companies in La Rioja

According to Nuevecuatrouno.com, the Internationalization Awards will be held on October 2. These are awards given by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of La Rioja through ADER, and which aim to recognize the work of promoting and developing Rioja’s export.

In this edition the winners are Bodegas Altanza, dedicated to the elaboration and marketing of high quality wines; Teinnova, a pioneer in the development, manufacture and commercialization of equipment for hygiene in air conditioning systems and smoke extraction in industrial kitchens; and Rafael González Business Group, representing the canned vegetable sector.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce, Jaime García-Calzada, has highlighted in a statement severed by Rioja2.com the importance of exporting “at a time of slowdown” and highlighted the value of “innovation, digital transformation and Internationalization” for Riojan companies.

According to Nuevecuatrouno.com, Rafael González Business Group is a holding company created in 1950, which is dedicated to the “manufacturing and marketing of a wide range of pickles and canned vegetables, as well as the marketing of rainbow trout”.

The Rafael González group is currently composed of four companies dedicated to canned vegetables, represented under the Végola brand. In addition, according to Nuevecuatrouno.com, they also have an aquaculture company, called Riverfresh. In total, Rafael González Business Group has seven production centers, and two of the companies that make up the holding company are located outside Spain.

It is also worth noting that Rafael González Business Group employs 750 people, and all of its companies invoice about 43 million euros per year, of which approximately 4 million were from its export activity. An activity that, according to Rioja2.com, grew “above 36% compared to the previous year”, and which has made the products of its brands Végola and Riverfresh present in more than twenty countries worldwide. This has led the group to be awarded the internationalization award as one of the best exporting companies in La Rioja.
