Spanish export of canned fish and shellfish increases
According to La Vanguardia, the Spanish export of canned fish and shellfish has increased by 6% in volume between January and March 2019 compared to the same period of the previous year.
During these first three months of the year, the value of the Spanish exports of canned fish and shellfish has increased by 6.31% compared with the same months of 2018, according to data from ANFACO collected by the avant-garde. ANFACO maintains that Spain has marketed 50,450 tonnes worldwide between January and March 2019, which is a collection of 239 million euro.
These data have allowed the Spanish sector of canned fish and shellfish to record a record in their exports, both in volume and value, compared to the same period of the last ten years, according to Agrodiariohuelva.es.

Canned fish and shellfish more commercialized
According to La Vanguardia, tuna continues to be the main marketed product, with a volume of exports exceeding 29,000 tonnes between January and March 2019, and a value of more than 153 million euros, “which has led to a rise of 6% in both cases with respect to the same period of 2018. ”
They are followed, by importance in volume, canned and prepared cuttlefish and squid, which have registered a figure of 5,871 tons exported, and the rest of seafood with a total of 4,368 tons, while other fish have sent 2,928 tons abroad ..
The main destinations of the Spanish exports of canned fish and shellfish
According to data collected by Agrodiariohuelva.es, the countries that make up the European Union are the main destination of canned fish and shellfish. These countries import 89% of the total of these products, having increased by 6.51% in volume and 5.07% in value the exports to this market with respect to the same period of the previous year.
For its part, America receives 5% of total marketing; followed by Africa, which imports 3%; And the rest of Europe, with a 2%, according to the Vanguard.
Thus, the main buyers of Spanish fish and shellfish products areItaly, France, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. Outside the European Union, the United States stands out as the main buyer, according to figures from Agrodiariohuelva.es.
